Maybelline Superstay Teddy Tint

Lip product atau produk untuk bibir memang menjadi salah satu produk wajib untuk diaplikasikan, supaya wajah nggak keliatan pucat. Bicara mengenai produk untuk bibir, as soon as the new Maybelline Super Stay Teddy Tints launched, social media flooded with reviews. At first, mostly positive… but the more I scrolled, the more complaints I saw from beauty lovers who had been “duped” by videos raving about the formula. Some people called them their new holy grails, while others complained about stickiness, patchiness, and dryness. So what gives? Why do the Maybelline Teddy Tints have such mixed reviews?

So, let’s jump to my review!

INGREDIENTS
Dimethicone, Trimethylsiloxysilicate, Nylon-611/Dimethicone Copolymer, Isododecane, Dimethicone Crosspolymer, C30-45 Alkyldimethylsilyl Polypropylsilsesquioxane, Lauroyl Lysine, Silica Silylate, Phenoxyethanol, Sorbic Acid, Ethylhexylglycerin, Disodium Stearoyl Glutamate, Aluminum Hydroxide, Linalool, Silica, Alpha-Isomethyl Ionone, Tocopherol, Parfum / Fragrance.

Speaking of ingredients, I dug a little deeper and compared these to the Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink Liquid Lipsticks. They struck me as similar– though sheerer– and frankly I thought they may be the same product but with more dimethicone in the formula. Comparing the ingredients side-by-side above, there are definitely a few differences but a lot of overlap (highlighted ingredients). I’m not a cosmetic chemist, but all of the mutual ingredients make me feel like I’m not that far off.

PACKAGING

Hal pertama yang dibahas adalah dari segi packaging. Berbeda dengan produk bibir lain dari Maybelline, produk kali ini tidak disertai box. Sehingga hanya produk langsung yang dibungkus plastik wrap transparan. Selain itu, bentuk tempat produknya dibuat 3 dimensi, gemes banget deh kayak ice cube, bulky gitu.

Sedangkan untuk aplikator, nggak ada keistimewaan karena desainnya biasa dengan model lurus. Aplikatornya simpel aja.

KLAIM
Maybelline Superstay Teddy Tint memiliki formula marshmallow bouncy elastomer yang memberikan sensasi lembut dan dapat menyamarkan garis halus pada bibir. Selain itu, color hugging flexi film membuat warna lip tint tahan lama dan fleksibel mengikuti pergerakan bibir. Formula inilah yang membuatnya transfer-proof, ringan di bibir, nggak lengket dan tahan hingga 12 jam.

TEKSTUR

Sedangkan dari segi tekstur, produk ini disebut sebagai perpaduan antara lip tint dengan lip velvet. Dimana ketika diaplikasikan pertama kali akan terlihat glossy.

Tapi kalau udah nge-set, ketika didiamkan sekitar 10 menitan, maka hasil akhir berubah menjadi matte. Sungguh perpaduan yang perfect sih menurutku.

Varian yang aku pakai nomor 80 : Keep It Cozy.

PROS
- Kelebihan dari produk ini adalah memang tahan lama. Hal ini sesuai klaim yang bertahan 12 jam, dengan catatan nggak dipakai makan maupun minum ya. Cuma aja, di bibir bisa bikin kering.
- The Super Stay Teddy Tints from Maybelline boasting up to 12 hours of transfer-proof, waterproof, kissproof and smudgeproof color in a buildable vegan formula. You can apply them sheer, blurred, or build them up to a solid bold color. Plus, they can be used as liquid blush.
- Its lightweight formula comes in 10 buildable shades across pinks, reds, and browns.

CONS
Secara harga memang disebut sedikit lebih mahal dan nggak bersahabat untuk semua kalangan. Harganya Rp 124.000 untuk ukuran 5ml. Menurutku untuk harga, ini lumayan mahal.
